But sometimes our expectations are off. Recovery isn't linear. Meeting ourselves where we are helps us to progress and feel our best.

Some key findings below:
- Employees point to many benefits of AI: it helps them save time (90%) and focus on their most important work (85%) be more creative (84%).
- Digital debt continues, and employees are spending more time communicating (60% of their time) than creating (40% of their time). Many employees are turning to AI to help minimize meetings and eliminate emails—so they can spend more time ideating and innovating.
- 68% of employees say they’re struggling with the pace and volume of work, and 46% report feeling burned out. Power users say AI can help with that. They say it makes workloads more manageable (92%)—and they feel better all around: they’re more motivated (91%) and enjoy work more (91%)

One of my 2024 goals is to "greet the gray."🩶
We often default to black/white thinking as a way to simplify complex situations.
But another option is to greet the gray and all that it holds: new ideas, feelings, and mindsets that either/or thinking shuts out.
Tension doesn't have to tear us apart. It can propel us forward.🎈

📚 This doodle is inspired by two streams of research. The first is about the benefits of paradoxical thinking for individuals, leaders, and organizations (Smith & Lewis). The second is about the importance of complexifying for navigating difficult conversations (See ch. 8 of Think Again by @adamgrant for a synthesis of the findings).
